START FINISH LINE ACTIVITIES - Saturday and Sunday
Deer Mountain / Chuck Best Snowmobile Park
Klamath National Forest - Goosenest Rangers District
Directions: Take Hwy 97 North from Weed or South from Klamath Falls to the Deer Mtn. / Chuck Best Memorial Snowmobile Park Turnoff - Approx. 6 miles to the snowmobile park.  Carry Chains and be prepared for winter weather.
There will be no buses this year. Parking is limited to available spaces at the trailhead.  Carpooling is encouraged.  No pets. Warming hut and Kiddie sledding hill.  Lite snacks and warm beverages will be available.  Pack a lunch.
No Alcohol allowed at this family friendly event. 
Skijor and sled dogs welcome.  Come train after the distance teams leave!
Volunteers will be camping out.
 
 
8 am - Teams will line-up and hook-up
9:45 am - Opening Ceremony
10 am - Siskiyou 135 START
SUNDAY FINISHES Throughout the day.  Teams must finish by 4 pm to place. 

CHECKPOINT 1 & 3
Pilgrim Creek Snowmobile Park - Shasta Trinity National Forest
Take Hwy. 89 from Interstate 5 - Travel East Through McCloud to the Pilgrim Creek Turn-off.  Approx. 6 miles to the snowmobile park.  Carry Chains and be prepared for winter weather.
CHECK POINT ONE - Pilgrim Creek offers great viewing of the teams as they travel through on the way to Four Corners. the teams are expected at check point one as early as noon Saturday.  Located just 20 minutes from historic McCloud - it's a great destination for the day.  Shop and dine at fine restaurants and unique shops after or before viewing the teams as they drive through on this first short 28 mile leg of the race. 

CHECK POINT THREE - Teams will return from Four Corners to Pilgrim Creek from as early as 2 am Sunday Morning until 1 pm Sunday afternoon.  Located just 20 minutes from historic McCloud - it's a great destination for the day.  Shop and dine at fine restaurants and unique shops after or before viewing the teams as they drive through to complete the last short 25.4 mile leg of the race back to Deer Mtn.  Volunteers will be camping out.

CHECKPOINT 2

Four Corners Snowmobile Park - Klamath National Forest
Take Hwy 97 North from Weed or South from Klamath Falls to the Four Corners Snowmobile Park Turnoff just South of Macdoel. Travel approx. 25 miles to the trailhead.
Carry Chains and be prepared for winter weather.
This is a great place to see the teams. All teams have a mandatory 6 hour layover at Four Corners to rest and take care of their teams.  Vets and medical services available.  The fastest teams will arrive beginning as early as Saturday, 3:30 pm.  Warming Hut, light refreshments and warm beverages available. Volunteers will be camping out.

 

 The Vet Check - 1 to 4 PM 

To SHASTICE PARK in Mount Shasta City - Take the City of Mount Shasta central exit off I-5. Go east at that exit. Continue until the road comes to a T below the high school and turn right onto on Rockfellow Drive. Turn left into Shastice Park and follow the road up to the parking lot along side the ice rink. You are there.

Sunday Evening Awards Banquet - 6:00 PM

To SONS OF ITALY HALL in Weed -  Sunday Evening Awards Banquet - 6:30 PM
$10 per person -
Take any Weed exit, You will exit onto the old business Highway which runs parallel to the freeway on the East side.  You will see the historic Weed arch over Main Street street - go under the arch. Go a couple more blocks to the east and turn right at the intersection with a hardware store on your left. Go one block and look for a large one story white building. You are there!

MUSHER LODGING, LATE ENTRY & PARKING INFORMATION

IF you are a Musher interested in Host Family Lodging,
please complete and mail your Entry Form and Fee ASAP.
Host Family Lodging is available on a first come first serve basis! 

  • Parking dog trucks at the trailhead the next day will be explained at the Mushers Meeting immediately following the Vet check at Shastice Park in Mt. Shasta.
  • Late race entries can sign up at the Vet Check.
  • Teams that have entered and have not yet paid their entry must pay
    at the Musher Meeting/ Vet Check or will not be allowed to race.
  • Drawing of Starting positions, Sled Banners and Race bibs
    will be given out at the Mushers Meeting.
