Siskiyou 135 Sled Dog Races are a project of the SSDSA, a 501c6 non-profit organization. Siskiyou 135 Sled Dog Races are held under a Special Use Permit from the U.S. Forest Service on a non-discriminatory basis.

12 dog teams-135 miLE distance COURSE
Heads south over Pomeroy Ridge to Pilgrim Creek trailhead in the Shasta/ Trinity National Forest, then NE past Little Glass Mtn. and the North Shore of Medicine Lake then along a volcanic ridge into Modoc National Forest.  The trail then traverses to the Four Corners trailhead back into the Klamath National Forest, returning South to Pilgrim Creek trailhead and back North to the Start/Finish line at Deer Mtn. Chuck Best Snowmobile Park.  Racers will compete and travel through private and public lands while enjoying spectacular views of Mt. Shasta, virgin stands of Fir, Ponderosa and Sugar Pine.  The whole course is run over a dormant Hawaiian Shield Volcano. . . technically it is the  largest volcano  in the North America. . . WOW!

Great opportunities for spectator viewing are found along the trail and at all trailheads.  CHECK POINT 1 & 3 - Pilgrim Creek is located off Hwy. 89 just east of McCloud.  CHECK POINT 2 - Four Corners is located SE of MacDoel off Hwy. 97.

There are no SPRINT OR SKIJOR RACES SCHEDULED THIS YEAR.  We will have the full spectrum of Race Classes again in 2009.  Thanks for your understanding!
